with the sealed lips
a little girl
tastes
the heaviness
of morning coffee

  1. This is perfect, Chico. That reflective little girl "tastes the heaviness" of what it may one day mean to be a grown-up and need our dark, heavy drink to start the day.

How observant and articulate you are in expressing the light and shadow emanating from this golden child's face.

    I love this poem.
